Kristi Troyna has been teaching riding lessons full time for the past 10 years, but her experience teaching riding goes back more than 25 years. After 8 years experience in therapy riding, Kristi went on to a career in management, grant writing and project management, but came back to her first love of sharing horses with kids after her children were born. She now runs an active kids’ riding program and has started a United States Pony Club Riding Center at Canada Larga Ranch.

Her focus is on safety, and training the next generation of horse lovers to be not just riders, but horsemen and women. The approach is all-inclusive. Students learn the care and management of the horses, as well as correct equitation. The kids in her program have varying degrees of interest, from recreation to competition, and they spend time working in all disciplines of riding and groundwork. They work as a team to support each other in local events and shows.
